September Member Spotlight - Kevin Postill, Tropical Smoothie Cafe Downtown Ann Arbor
Tropical Smoothie Cafe Downtown Ann Arbor is located at 607 East Liberty Street; right next to the Michigan Theater. This Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been open for just over 5 years now. My business partner and I purchased this franchise as of 6/12/2017. Since then we have re-imaged and updated the whole store. We put a newly updated Tropical Smoothie Cafe sign on the front of the building along with a brand new Catering Department to handle all possible sized events. During our process of cleaning and making the store a better place to be in; we have hired all new staff and updated their training to the proper standards of operations. Everyone is fun, energetic and very efficient at working in teams together to help serve the customer to their fullest potential.

To start out, my name is Kevin Postill. I was born in 1989 and raised in St. Clair Michigan. Growing up with parents that were self employed; I had the pleasure of learning and understanding what it meant to work hard at an early age. As the years passed I always knew business ownership was my path in life and thanks to my parents for teaching lessons in life that I was able to appreciate as I grew older; this became a reality with Tropical Smoothie Cafe. My background ranges in many directions from culinary, business management, aviation, to skilled trades. My business partner and co-owner Wassim Abousamra is who lead me to Tropical Smoothie Cafe. We had done some restate over the years and one day mentioned getting into franchising. We set out on a year long process of looking into any possible franchise you could imagine and we found Tropical Smoothie Cafe to be the winner. After meeting their Corporate team and learning the true nature of Tropical Smoothie Cafe, we were hooked! We purchased 2 locations off the start and then ended up owning the Ann Arbor location as well. Ann Arbor has been a great place to call home and I personally look forward to being apart of this great city as much as I can.
