Community Involvement

The WWBA's Role in the Community

One purpose of the West Washtenaw Business Association is to support and improve our community. We continue to do so through many projects and programs. Some recent projects include:

• Adopting the medians on Jackson Ave and the pedestrian islands on Stadium Blvd. to maintain their appearance
• Sponsoring the Ann Arbor Police Awards banquet
• Sponsoring the Scio Township Fire Department Halloween party

The WWBA Cares program supports non-profits in the community. All proceeds from WWBA Cares are donated to local non-profit organizations. The program also helps promote our members. The program accepts certificate donations from businesses, which are sold at member events. Participating businesses are recognized in our newsletter, The Business Banter. The following are some of the beneficiaries of these funds:

• Peace Neighborhood Center
• The Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan
• IHN Alpha House
• Habitat for Humanity
